Purpose  

The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for sourcing, displaying, and utilizing reviews about flats and properties from social media platforms and property selling websites. This policy ensures that reviews are presented in a fair, transparent, and ethical manner, providing potential buyers with accurate and helpful information.

1. Source Credibility  

  • Verified Sources: Only reviews from verified accounts on property selling websites (e.g., 99acres, MagicBricks) and credible social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) will be considered. The reviews must originate from accounts that are clearly identifiable as real users or industry professionals.
  • Transparency: The source of the review must be clearly stated, including the platform and the date of the review. Any affiliations or conflicts of interest must be disclosed.

2. Review Selection Criteria  

  • Balanced Representation: A fair selection of both positive and negative reviews must be displayed to provide a balanced perspective. At least three positive and three negative reviews should be included whenever possible to avoid bias.
  • Relevance: Reviews should be recent (preferably within the last 12 months) and directly related to the specific property or project in question. Outdated reviews or those not relevant to the current condition of the property should be excluded.
  • Detail and Specificity: Reviews should offer specific insights into the property, such as construction quality, amenities, location, and overall living experience. Vague or overly generic reviews should be avoided.

3. Ethical Considerations  

  • No Alterations: Reviews should be presented as written by the original author without any alterations, except for minor grammatical corrections. Under no circumstances should the sentiment or meaning of a review be changed.
  • Anonymous Reviews: Reviews from anonymous sources should be treated with caution and, if used, must be clearly labeled as such. Preference should be given to reviews from identifiable users.
  • Respect for Privacy: Personal information of reviewers should not be displayed unless explicitly permitted by the reviewer. Any identifying information should be redacted if privacy concerns arise.

4. Legal Compliance  

  • Intellectual Property Rights: All reviews must respect intellectual property rights, with proper credit given to the original source. Permission must be obtained where necessary before reproducing reviews.
  • Defamation and Libel: Care should be taken to avoid publishing defamatory or libelous content. Reviews that make unsubstantiated claims or personal attacks should not be used.
